Unpolished 1970 Rolex Submariner 1680 MK 2 Tropical Dial

Case: The unpolished case is excellent, showing wide, prominent factory bevels and average wear from use. The black fat-font bezel is also in excellent condition, showing light to average wear for its age.

Dial: The MK 2 "red" dial has aged with a rich chocolate brown "tropical" patina, showing only very light wear for its age. The lume has aged to a warm creamy hue, and the hands match perfectly.

Bracelet: The 11-link folded Oyster bracelet is excellent, showing only light stretch for its age. The bracelet is not stamped with a date code.

Accessories: None.

Notes: It's becoming rarer and rarer to find a watch that has that one long-time owner/daily driver feel to it. While we can't know for sure the life this Submariner has had, it sure seems to us that it was bought, strapped onto a wrist, and worn daily for years, maybe decades. Put on in the morning, and tossed on the dresser or nightstand at the end of the day. They didn't polish it when the case got dinged, they didn't replace the bezel when the silver indexes started bronzing, and they certainly didn't replace the dial when the black started fading to brown.
