Case: The freshly polished case is excellent featuring sharp prominent bevels. The smooth stainless bezel is also in excellent condition showing little if any wear from use.
Dial: The glossy black tritium dial is excellent showing little if any wear. The lume has aged to a clean creamy hue and the hands are matching.
Bracelet: The 12 link oyster bracelet is excellent and shows light stretch for its age. The clasp is stamped with a 1985 date code.
Notes: This Explorer is one of the few early 14270s to leave the factory with black enamel filling the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock markers. After only a short run of these watches being produced, Rolex switched to the white enamel fill they still use today.
