1978 Rolex Explorer II 1655 MK 2 Dial with Box and Papers

Case: The previously polished case is excellent showing some light wear from use. The stainless bezel is also in excellent condition showing some wear from use.
Dial: The matte black MK 2 dial is excellent showing some light wear from use. There are some very subtle imperfections around the centerpost and and two others just above and to the right of the word "chronometer" The lume has aged to a warm creamy hue and the hands match perfectly. The 3.5 to 7 o'clock markers show some small spots of light discoloration.
Bracelet: The 12 link Oyster bracelet is excellent and shows very light stretch for its age. The clasp is stamped with a 1979 date code.
Accessories: Box and Papers.
Notes: If the Submariner is the watch equivalent of the Porsche 917 then the Explorer II is for sure the watch equivalent of the Lancia Stratos HF.
