1988 Rolex Submariner 168000 World Championship Maxi Boat 1988

Case: Very Good case that shows some wear from use. The black bezel insert is in excellent condition and the original pearl is present. The caseback is engraved to commemorate the winning of the 1988 maxi yacht world championship.

Dial: Originally glossy black, the dial has aged to a semi-matte finish with a patina that looks like raindrops pooling on a black surface. The markers are turning a warm creamy hue and the hands have aged slightly lighter than the dial.

Bracelet: The 11 link oyster bracelet has light stretch and is in excellent condition. The clasp is stamped with a matching 1988 date code.

Notes: in 1988 The crew of the Il Moro di Venezia III Maxi Yacht raced and won the Maxi World Championship. The owner of the boat and head of the Il Moro di Venezia racing syndicate presented the crew with engraved Rolex 168000s. This is one of those watches.
