1983 Rolex Submariner 16800 Matte Dial

Case: Excellent case that has just been expertly refinished at LA Watchworks and features sharp prominent bevels that closely mimic the factory profile. The original bezel insert has faded to a dark navy blue and shows some wear from use.

Dial: The matte black dial is excellent and shows little if any wear. The lume plots have aged to a clean sandy hue and the original hands are matching.

Bracelet: The 12 link oyster bracelet is in excellent condition and has normal stretch for its age. The clasp is stamped with a matching 1983 date code.

Accessories: None.

Notes: The 16800 along with the 16760 and 16660 bridges the gap between what we tend to consider a vintage and a modern Rolex. The transition period from plastic crystals and matte dials to WGS dials and sapphire crystals produced some incredibly unique, beautiful, and robust watches.
