1981 Rolex Gold Submariner 16808 Tropical Blue Nipple Dial

Case: The gently worn and unpolished 18k yellow gold case is excellent with a bright sleeve polished finish and intact factory bevels. The blue bezel insert is also excellent and from age is shifting in color to a deep purple hue.

Dial: The tropical blue dial is excellent and is aging and fading to reveal the gold base layer of the dial. The lume has aged to a warm sandy hue and the hands match perfectly.

Bracelet: The 12 link 18k YG Oyster bracelet is excellent showing only light stretch for its age.

Accessories: None

Notes: The nebulous mixing of gold and blue on the dial is a small but beautiful reminder of the impermanence of things. Oh, and also it's an unpolished gold submariner with a tropical dial.
