1979 Rolex 18K YG Day-Date 18078 Bark with Birch Burlwood Dial

Case: The thick and even 18k yellow gold case is excellent and appears to be unpolished showing light wear from use. A bark finish has been factory applied to the 18k yellow gold bezel. The bezel shows only very light wear from use.

Dial: The birch burlwood dial is excellent showing little if any wear from age, with no cracks, chipping, or delamination present. The short stick applied gold markers are excellent showing little if any wear from age. The gold tritium hands are matching and the lume on the hands have aged to a warm sandy hue.

Bracelet: The 22 link 18k yellow gold president bracelet is excellent with a sharp and well-defined factory applied bark finish on the center links. The bracelet shows only very light stretch for its age.

Accessories: None.

Notes: Found in everything from mid-century modern furniture, to Rolex dials, to match grade rifle stocks, burl has long since been a favorite material to woodworkers and artisans. This particular dial has the look of molten gold swirling and mixing together in a beautiful organic pattern that almost appears to move.
