Case: The thick and even case is excellent showing sharp prominent bevels and only light wear from use. The black bezel insert is also in excellent condition showing only light wear from use. There is some light delamination present around the 6 and 10 o'clock markers.
Dial: The grey dial is excellent showing little if any wear for its age. The lume has aged to a warm vibrant creamy hue and the hands have aged just slightly lighter than the dial.
Bracelet: The 13 link folded link oyster bracelet is excellent showing only very light stretch for its age. The clasp is stamped with a 1970 date code.
Accessories: None.
Notes: Along with its cousin the Rolex 1655, the Monte Carlo sits squarely in the postmodernism camp of the 1970s. Pairs nicely with a De Tomaso Pantera, or a Lancia Stratos.
