1966 Rolex Submariner 5513 Meters First Gilt Tropical Dial

Case: The thick and even case is excellent showing wide, sharp prominent bevels and only light wear from use. The black bezel insert is also in excellent condition showing only light wear from use.

Dial: The meters first dial is excellent and has aged with a beautiful tropical patina the shows gold fleck speckling, light spider cracking, and a shift to a gold ombré tropical hue. The tall puffy lume plots have aged to a warm vibrant goldenrod hue and the hands match perfectly.

Bracelet: The new old stock 12 link + dive extension flip-lock Oyster bracelet. The clasp is stamped with a 2008 date code.

Notes: A Tropical meters first 5513 is really still the thing. We see a lot less of them than we used to because the people who buy them tend to hold onto them. And seeing this one today still feels as special as the first time I saw one.
