1966 Rolex Explorer 1016 Tropical Gilt Dial

Case: The case is very good showing some wear from use. The smooth stainless bezel is also in excellent condition showing some wear from use.
Dial: The glossy black gilyt dial is excellent showing only light wear for its age. The dial is beginning to turn tropical on the right edge of the dial between the 3 and 6 o'clock markers. The lume has aged to a warm creamy hue and the hands match perfectly. All lume glows brightly when exposed to UV and falls off rapidly at the same rate which is correct for this series of dial.
Bracelet: The 11 link Swiss rivet bracelet is excellent showing only light stretch for its age. The clasp is stamped with a 1969 date code.

Notes: With a hint of tropical patina and vibrant creamy lume plots, this 1016 is an absolute stunner.
