Case: Excellent case with a sleeve polished finish. The original MK O prototype pushers are beginning to show some brassing. The original Mark 1 black bezel insert is excellent condition with small scratches present just above the 55 index. The early versions of this model have 6239 casebacks.
Dial: Excellent and very early clean none "oyster"matte black dial that is beginning to turn tropical brown. The markers have turned a warm creamy markers and the hands are matching. The 3 and 11 o'clock markers are partially missing. All lume glows brightly at the same rate when exposed to UV which is correct for this dial.
Bracelet: The 11 link USA stretch rivet bracelet is excellent with light stretch. The clasp is stamped with a 1967 date code.
Accessories: None.
Notes: In case you don't already know, Allan is a black East-European shepherd who also happens to be the unofficial mascot of Tropical Watch. Allan looks jet black until the sun hits his coat and the deep orangy-red tones usually hidden show through. The dial of this early 6240 is a lot like Allan. The silvery sub-dials, strong case, prototype pushers already make this a particularly nice example. But take it out into the sun and the watch takes on a look that is on an entirely new level.
